Michael (Mike) Cyril Walker, age 72, died at his home, after a short battle with cancer, on Friday,
July 27, 2018, with loved ones nearby.
Mike was born December 1, 1945 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Charles Patterson Walker and
Sarah Aline (nee Mangus). He was a 1963 graduate of Cameron High School and joined the
U.S. Navy shortly thereafter. He proudly served on the USS Chicago during the Vietnam War.
He was a longtime manager in the tire industry and retired from his career in Southern California
before moving to Jordan, MN.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and also supported the Boston Celtics.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Patterson Walker, his mother, Sarah Aline
Burns (nee Mangus) his wife Cynthia Jean (nee Stevens).
He is survived by his current wife, Elizabeth Mary, daughters Dawn Pendleton (Meghana
Suchak), Stephanie Crosbie, Sarah (Rich) Miller, Patricia Tighe, his son Michael (Jacquelyn),
step-daughters, Julie (Steve) Pesek, Jill (Brian) Fritz, step-sons Jonathan Mahowald (Jennifer)
and Jaysin Mahowald (Katie), brothers Bob (Mary) Walker, Robert W. (Linda) Ullom, 24
grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from
4:00-6:00pm, followed immediately by a celebration of life service at 6:00pm.
Mike’s final resting place will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital Hospice.
