Michelle “Shelley” Friedges, age 61 of Prior Lake, passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on Saturday, April 8, 2023 after a long battle with ALS. Shelley requested that no funeral be held for her, but rather people remember the special memories she made with them.
Shelley was born on February 8, 1962 to Marjorie (Malone) and Glenn Place. She grew up and graduated in Jordan, MN with her siblings. In 1991, Shelley met the love of her life, Duane Friedges. Shelley and Duane raised their 2 daughters, Katie and Ashley in Prior Lake. They were blessed with three grandchildren.
Shelley is survived by her loving husband Duane; daughters, Katie (Tyler Streed) Pauly and Ashley Pauly; grandchildren, Brandi, Caylee, and Anthony; siblings, Vicki (Ron) Mornson, Brad (Terry) Place, Sheryl (Ralph) Flum, and Mark (Nancy) Place; sister-in-law, Brenda (Ed) Petsch; brother-in-law Ken Friedges; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Glenn Place.
