Miguel Gil, age 26, of Jordan, MN, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 11 am, with a visitation from 10-10:45 am, both at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 215 West Second Street, Chaska, MN. Father Tony VanderLoop will preside.
The youngest of five children, Miguel was born on May 22, 1996, in Sylmar, CA, to parents Pedro and Rita (Tlatenchi) Gil. In the years following, the Gil family moved to Minnesota and eventually settled down in Jordan. Here, Miguel attended Jordan school and loved to be outside playing football, basketball, wrestling and enjoying life as young boys do, with his siblings and friends. This love for sports went beyond his youth years. Miguel was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved to watch UFC with his family, on Saturday nights.
Family was most important to Miguel, and he was most content being surrounded by the ones he loved the most. Miguel was an amazing son and supportive brother. His life was enriched meeting Alexis Castro and her son, Angel. Miguel welcomed him into his life and was eager to teach him about life’s excitements, especially how to ride a bike. For Miguel, it was the birth of his son, Alex on August 23, 2022, that completed him. He was so proud to be a father and loved both of his sons deeply. His love for family also spilled over to his nieces and nephews. Miguel was active in their lives, playing with them and loved making them laugh. He was known to them as the fun Uncle Mickey, which Miguel held as high remarks.
Besides the importance of family, Miguel had a strong connection and passion towards animals. He particularly loved the companionship of his dogs. But what some may not know, is Miguel loved the music of Taylor Swift and dreamed of the day to attend her concert.
Miguel’s character of being selfless was a testament to his character. Despite his own struggles in life, Miguel was willing to help anyone. It didn’t matter what, he was there for family and friends. Last fall, he accepted a position with Anchor Glass, in Shakopee, where he quickly earned the respect of his colleagues. In a short time, Miguel had made an impact on their lives.
Forever loved, Miguel will be forever missed by sons, Alex and Angel; parents, Pedro and Rita Gil; siblings, Pedro Gil, Deisy (fiancé, Cole Elliott) Gil, Jose Gil, Wendy (Todd) Kidd; significate other, Alexis Castro; nieces and nephews, Ayden, Elyse, Amaya, Everly, Emsly; other relatives and friends.
