The proud parents of Robert and Charlene (Wilson) Beerling, announced the birth of their first son, Michael Joseph, born in Minneapolis, MN on February 27, 1964. Raised in Prior Lake, he and his younger brothers, Robert and Scott, spent most of the day enjoying the outdoors and keeping their parents on their toes. Mike attended St. Michael’s Catholic School through the eighth grade and furthered his education at the Prior Lake High School. During high school, Mike enjoyed playing football, basketball, and perfecting his mischievous side. Once, he even put a for sale signs on the front lawn of the school with his best buddies. Mike was graduate of the Class of 1982.

After graduation, Mike attended Mankato State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Working various accounting jobs in the beginning, Mike spent over 20 years with Marketplace Home Mortgage. He was the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and a partner in the company. Passionate about his job, Mike was well known and respected in the industry and answered to the name of ‘Minnesota Mike’!

In high school Spanish class, Mike met the love of his life, Holly Schuman and it was the start of their forever love story. After both graduating from college, Mike and Holly exchanged wedding vows at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on June 27, 1987. They were blessed with two precious daughters, Jordyn and Jayme who became their pride and joy. Mike couldn’t have been any prouder of his girls and the young women they have grown-up to be. Mike was always ready for the next adventure to be had with his three girls and his beloved shadow, Pixie. From enjoying Pelican Lake to running through airports to make it to their final destination, which usually entailed warm weather and turquoise blue water, he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Mike was loved, respected, and cherished by all who he encountered. He was known as the ‘dancing bear’ to his long-time fantasy football buddies, and could often be found busting a move on the golf course with his Thursday Night Golf Club. As of late, he was perfecting his moves to Bruno Mars, which was quite the sight! Mike enjoyed watching his Golden Gophers, Mitch and Matt, play football, spending lazy days on the front porch, and any time he could by the water.

Mike will be remembered most for his bear hugs, warm smile, and hearty laugh. He was a man who was committed, honest, dedicated, courageous, and giving even past his earthly existence. His loving, caring, and gentle heart is irreplaceable and will be eternally missed by those who knew him best.

Forever loved and missed, Mike’s legacy will be carried on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Holly; daughters, Jordyn, Jayme; his shadow, Pixie; mother, Charlene Beerling; mother-in-law, Darlene Schuman; brothers, Robert (Lorie) Beerling, Scott (Adrienne) Beerling; brother-in-law, Scott Schuman; nieces, nephews, relatives, and devoted friends.

Mike was welcomed home in heaven by his father, Robert and father-in-law, Frank Schuman.
