Biography of Natalia Valeriu Bureac
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”
Isaiah 66:13
Natalia was born on May 10, 1979 in Criuleni, Moldova. She was born to the loving family of Valeriu and Liubov Nistreanu. Valeriu was the head supervisor for plant protection and Liubov was an accountant for the collective farm. They had two children, Natalia and her older brother Eugene. They lived in the village of Baltata, Moldova, in the Criuleni District.
Natalia went into the first grade in 1986. From a young age she would often ask her dad tons of questions. Why? How? What? She often asked him how many stars are in the sky. She was an excellent student in school until her teachers found out that she had become a Christian. After which her teachers started purposely lowering her grades.
Her dad’s sister Rita accepted Christ and Natalia started going to church with her.
Natalia and her mom, Liubov, accepted Christ as their savior together in the summer of 1992 at an evangelist outreach event at a park near the lake. At which new members were getting baptized to join the church of the village of Baltata. Sometime later her father, Valeriu, accepted Christ. Following which he became a preacher and an active member of their church.
Natalia was musically inclined therefore she almost immediately joined the choir. She was also an active member in service and in the youth. She often helped organize and plan youth outreach events. She also took part in and taught a Sunday school class. At that time, her future husband Vladimir began to pray about her.
Natalia graduated school in the spring of 1996 and got baptized later that summer in the church of the city of Chisinau. She was 17 at that time and in the same year started attending a technical college. Where she earned a degree in ready made clothing and fashion design. After which she began working at atelier in 1999 with great references from members of their church.
On March 8th of that same year Vladimir proposed to her. At that point Vladimir had been praying about Natalia for 7 years. They had their civil ceremony on November 19th, 1999 and had the religious ceremony on November 21st. From 1999 to 2005 they lived in Sagaidac, a few minutes away from the village of Baltata. During that time they had 3 children. Danata was born in 2000, Anya in 2002, and Cornilii in 2004. During this she continued to organize kids summer camps in their church.
On July 5th, 2005 their family moved from Moldova to Minnesota. In September of that year Natali and Vladimir started taking classes at the Hennepin Technical College to learn the English Language. English came easier to Natalia because she knew Moldovan.
In 2007, Natalia and Vladimir welcomed their fourth child Veronica. During this blessed time and for the next few years Vladimir worked as a truck driver. During that time Natalia also supported Vladimir as he went on mission trips to Mexico. She would be at home with the kids for 2-3 weeks at a time when he was on missionary trips. She often baked cakes and other desserts for bake sales to help raise money for the trips as well. In 2013 the couple welcomed their fifth child, Alex.
A few years after Alex’s arrival she decided to go to school to be a massage therapist. In 2017 she graduated with a degree in massage therapy from Northwestern Health Sciences University. After which she worked in a few different clinics and spas in Shakopee. Her last place of employment was the spa at the Omni Hotel in Eagan. She got her job there due to the recommendations of her classmates. She also had a massage business of her own. She often had clients who had cancer or other health conditions. They needed a specific kind of massage that she had gotten certified by taking courses in Florida.
In May of 2022, their eldest daughter Danata married Kawar Paw. A little over a month later their second oldest daughter Anya married Misha Cherniy. Anya and Misha are currently expecting a daughter, Natalia and Vladimir’s first grandchild.
In 2023 Natalia became sick with a very serious and rare condition. She underwent treatment from many different doctors but on Easter, March 31st 2024, she became unwell and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. After undergoing extensive treatments and testing in a short period of time a cure hadn't been found so she was transferred to a rehabilitation center. While living there she had been gradually improving. She lived at the rehabilitation center from the end of June till October 19th. On Saturday October 19th she was taken to Methodist Hospital as she was feeling significantly worse. For 6 days she was in the ICU. At the beginning of the week the doctors informed her family that she may die. On wednesday, October 23rd her whole family gathered to pray over her. Natalia also joined in with a prayer with a weak voice. Throughout her illness many people around the world continued praying for God to heal her. But God had his own plan for her. On Sunday she spent time with her husband and two close friends, Natalya Kormin and Sveta Kachula, in high spirits.
On Monday, October 28th at 11:20 am the Lord called her to be with Him.
Natalia was always positive, loved her husband and children, parents, brother and others around her. She was loved and adored by many. Natalia loved flowers and enjoyed being out in nature. She often dreamed about buying a house with her husband and having a big garden. In the last few years of her life she longed to be in Heaven. God blessed many people through her life, testimony and kindness.
We thank God for the most loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and example of a God-fearing woman. She was a woman after God’s own heart.
Till we meet again in Heaven! With Love, your loving husband Vladimir and dear children Danata, Anya, Cornilii, Veronica and Alex.
In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting Natalia’s family in prayer and by contributing to the fundraising for funeral expenses.
