Neva Marie Tucholke

On Monday, February 26, 1945 in Montevideo, MN, Neva Marie was born to parents Joseph and Anna (Glisky) Havlik. She was one of five children and her childhood years were spent in Appleton, MN.

Neva met her husband Harold when they were in high school and they were together ever since. During their wonderful 50 years together they were blessed with three children, Dave, Dana, and Darin. They raised their family in Eagan and all three children graduated from Burnsville High School. There was always activity in their household; kids playing, school projects, coffee dates with the ladies and Neva was always in the center of the action, with a smile on her face.

As a family, they enjoyed ski trips to Colorado, camping trips and visiting the family farm.

As the children grew older, Neva worked at the airport for MLT and for ADP in Accounts Payable. Creating lasting friendships was second nature to Neva and she was blessed with great people in her life.

Harold and Neva enjoyed traveling together and were fortunate enough to visit Australia, New Zealand, Korea, China, Ireland to name a few.

No one was more cut out to be a Grandmother than Neva and she was blessed with three grandchildren; Nicholas, Lauren, and Lucas. She spent countless hours with them going on trips, attending their events, playing cards or simply baking cookies. She truly loved her annual trips to Lake Kabetogama and Lake Powell to spend time with her kids and grandkids.

After her retirement, Harry and Neva began spending their winters in Arizona, where they met many new friends and enjoyed the warm weather.

Neva was involved in many activities but gardening and quilting were her true passions. Everyone in the family has a quilt made from Neva and probably some of her homegrown hostas in their garden.

Neva had a kind-hearted soul, with a soft touch and the patience of a Saint. She was a true friend in every sense of the word. Neva was caring, compassionate and a good listener.

A resident of Lakeville, Neva Tucholke passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on the evening of Thursday, May 17, 2012 at her home, at the age of 67.

Forever loved, Neva will be deeply missed by her husband, Harold; children, David (Mia) Tucholke of Red Cliff, CO, Dana (Scott) Nygaard of Prior Lake, Darin (Katie) Tucholke, Minturn, CO; grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren Nygaard and Lucas Tucholke; siblings, Lois (Neal) Bodin of Plymouth, Robert Havlik of Appleton, Aurelia (John) Drier of Crystal, and Paul Havlik of Idaho Springs, ID; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
