Nicholas Adam Burtyk

Nicholas Adam Burtyk, age 43, of Burnsville, MN, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Nick was born August 28, 1980, in Waconia, MN. He was the son of Frederick (Fritz) and Anne (Pixie) Burtyk. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN. Nick grew up in the Green Isle area and graduated in 1999 from Sibley East High School in Arlington, MN.

He furthered his education at Minnesota State University, Mankato, spending two years in the commercial aviation course. He ultimately completed his first solo flight in a single engine Cessna. Soon after, he decided to change career paths and enrolled at St. Cloud State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

After his education, Nick traveled around the world for work, some favorite places being Ireland, Taiwan, California, and Louisiana. After travel-heavy work, Nick centered his career in the Twin Cities area. Unknown to many, Nick was an inventor and held a patent related to electrical engineering. The invention is a “Sense and Hold Circuit for Hose Assembly” patent number 9535024.

In his spare time, Nick loved the outdoors, always hiking and finding new trails, frequenting Bravi's in Shakopee for their tacos, attending car shows around the metro, electrical projects, and continuing his love for aviation through his custom flight simulator.

Nick was always there to lend a helping hand. He had patience, kindness, and a willingness to teach and help in times of need.

Nick is survived by his mother, Pixie Burtyk; his father, Fritz Burtyk; his siblings, Daniel and Brook Burtyk, and Tom and Nicole Burtyk; his nephew, Benjamin Menefee; his nieces, Sophia Menefee, Katelyn Burtyk, and Ava Burtyk; and many more relatives and friends.

Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy and Elaine (Charlotte) Stark, and Joseph and Mable Burtyk; sister, Jennifer Sims; uncle, John Burtyk; aunt, Sarah Doerr; and cousin, Christine Kistner.
