Ollie Helmbrecht, age 91, of Prior Lake, MN, passed peacefully in the presence of her family on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at New Perspective Senior Living in Woodbury, MN.
A Celebration of life will be held honoring Ollie on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11 am, with a time of gathering one hour prior, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake. A private family interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in her name by the family.
Olive Bethel Helmbrecht was born on May 18, 1932, in Black River Falls, WI, to Clarence and Gladys (Giebel) Fields. She grew up on a farm in Wisconsin with her brothers and sisters. She met and married Paul Reese. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Marilynn and Cathy. Later, Ollie met and married Chester Bangerter. She was once again blessed with two more beautiful daughters, Jill and Shelly.
Ollie had various jobs in her life, all very rewarding to her. She ended her career cleaning houses. Ollie enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and just being outdoors. She enjoyed watching birds, squirrels and the chipmunks in her yard. Ollie enjoyed baking, crafting of all sorts and traveling with LeRoy. She especially enjoyed going to church and talking to her family on the phone.
Ollie’s family would like to give a big thank you to Brighton Hospice, especially Sara and Erin and all the other staff who helped with mom’s care. Also, a big thank you to the staff at New Perspective and the Betty Harbour Memory Care staff, nurses and aids.
Forever loved, Ollie will be missed by her daughter, Marilynn (Curt), Cathy (Roger), Jill (Greg), Shelly (Lori); grandchildren, Becky (Randy), Tammy, Sandy (Bobby), Chad (Betsy), Eugene (Erin), T.C. (Mel), J.D.; great grandchildren, Ryan, Shaun, Matt, Holly, Alicia, Ella, Meg, Hayden, Elsie, Thomas, Hank, Everson; great grandchildren, Blake, Avaya, Maddie; sisters, Marty (Richard), Donna (Bandit), Alice (Ray), Jennifer (Bill); brothers, Terry, Joel (Kay); other relatives and friends.
Greeting Ollie home in Heaven is her husband, LeRoy Helmbrecht; parents, Clarence and Gladys; sister, Dephane; brothers, George, David, Jerry, Gibb, Gerald; brother-in-law, Leon and sister-in-law, Donna.
