Pamelia “Pam” Anderson

Pamelia “Pam” Anderson, age 77, of Bloomington, MN, passed away on May 28, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM with a time of gathering from 1:00 – 2:45 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 833 S. Marschall Rd., Shakopee, MN 55379. Chaplain Teresa Pecinovsky will preside. Pam will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Circle Pines, MN at a later date.

Pam was born on May 12, 1947 to Lloyd “Bud” and Bernice “Bea” (Fridgen) Maseline in Minneapolis, MN. The oldest of three siblings, Pam grew up in Circle Pines, MN, where she began her active life. She loved playing softball and other sports and activities with her good friends, Linda and Linda, and graduated from Centennial High School in 1965. Following her high school graduation, Pam decided to follow her heart and attend St. Cloud State with Bob Anderson, who she had met at a dance hall some time earlier, where Bob played in a band called the Showmen. A couple years later, Pam and Bob were united in marriage on August 17, 1967. Bob started a job with Hallmark and his work brought the family to various cities and towns. They were blessed with their first son, Chad in 1971 while living in Gary, Indiana before settling in West Fargo in 1975. Soon after, they were blessed with their second son, Travis, in 1976. Pam continued to be active playing softball and volleyball and once the boys were both in school, Pam began working in the local school district. She always encouraged her family to be involved, putting them in piano lessons at an early age and supporting them in hockey, baseball, boy scouts, football and golf. Sports were year-round for the Anderson family.

In the summers, Pam loved camping and being on the lake with her family and wonderful friends they made in West Fargo, boating, water skiing, fishing and golfing. After several years of tenting and getting soaked from the rain, Pam and Bob decided to buy a camper and set up permanent camp on Long Lake in Detroit Lakes, MN in the early 80’s. Pam and Bob enjoyed lake activities, playing cards, cookouts and attending WE Fest with their friends and family for many years. After many rounds of Lawn Chair Olympics, croquet tournaments, and campfire cookouts, their section of the campground became known as “Rowdy Cove”.

In 1990, Pam and Bob moved back to the cities, settled in Apple Valley and in 1995 bought an old cabin on Rice Lake in Paynesville. They renovated the cabin, bought a pontoon, and entertained family and friends for many years. In 1998 they moved to Brooklyn Park to be closer to family and made more good friends, even old West Fargo friends as new neighbors. When Bob passed away in March 2002, Pam took it hard. She leaned on family and friends for support and expanded her social circles. She joined the Ullr group to stay active and thrived for over 20 years going on bike trips, ski trips, cruises and golfing. Pam was well into her 60’s before cutting back on water skiing and snow skiing! She was also blessed with six grandkids and loved them all.

In 2018, Pam moved to Friendship Village because of early stages of Alzheimers. She loved to play cards, exercise and stay active in her new community. She made lots of friends and enjoyed visits from Tucker the dog.

Positive, vibrant, and active through her final days, Pam will be greatly missed by her sons, Chad (Stephanie) Anderson and Travis (Amy) Anderson; grandkids, Rachel, Nicholas, Sevrin, Peyton, Jacob, and Will; sister, Debbie Huppert; brother-in-law Mike Gallagher; many nieces, nephews and other loving relative and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Anderson; parents; sister, Judy Gallagher; and brother-in-law, Joe Huppert.
