Patti will be laid to rest at Concord Hill Cemetery in Lydia.

It was a beautiful fall day in Tacoma, Washington on September 27, 1954 when Don and Dorothy (Williams) Tilton celebrated the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Patti Ann Tilton. She was one of five children, and she loved growing up in Washington. Patti especially enjoyed their trips to the family cabin located in the mountains of Washington.

When Patti was a teenager she moved to Minnesota. She split her time between the twin cities and Duluth in Minnesota and made frequent trips home to Washington. Patti became a mother at a young age, and she worked hard to provide a good life for her children. It was working as a waitress in Cambridge that she met a handsome young man named Robin Bullyan. Patti and Robin were soon married and were blessed with three wonderful children, Stacey, Roger and Adam. They raised their family in the Duluth area until Robin passed away in 1983.

Over the next two years Patti and the kids moved around a lot, but they eventually settled in the Eagan area. Patti got a job as a bank teller at Community State Bank in Bloomington where she met Doug Hendrickson. He would come in every Friday to cash his paycheck, and they would visit with each other. Finally Doug got up his courage to ask Patti out on date, and the rest was history. Patti and Doug were married in 1985.

Doug and Patti loved to spend time together up at Doug’s family cabin in South Haven, MN. They’d go boating, fishing and spend time soaking up the sun. They also loved traveling together. Patti and Doug visited Las Vegas, Colorado, Jamaica and Mexico. Wherever they went, they had a wonderful time seeing the sights and soaking up the local culture.

Patti has always been a hard worker. Throughout the years she worked as a waitress and a bank teller. She also had jobs at Famous Footwear, Glamour Shots and Best Buy. But Patti’s favorite jobs were doing in-home daycare and providing assistance to those in need as PCA. Patti thrived in these jobs as she was such a caring a giving woman. She was always taking care of others and making sure they had everything they needed. Patti also applied her strong work ethic to her studies. Later in life she obtained degrees in multiple fields, including criminal justice.

When Patti wasn’t working she’d spend her time sewing, baking and cooking. She could make anything taste good (even Doug’s venison) and was famous for her Tater-Tot Hot Dish. Family and friends were always the most important things in Patti’s life. She loved being a mom and couldn’t get enough of her grandkids. Patti was so giving with her time to both her family and friends. She was always busy doing something to help others. She loved spending time with the residents in her apartment building. She’d bring them to doctor appointments, shopping or simply take the time to play a game with them. Patti was truly loved by everyone in her building.

Patti was a smart and passionate woman who will be remembered as a wonderful mother, loving grandma and dear friend to so many. Patti will be deeply missed and remembered always by her children, Stacey Bullyan, Roger Bullyan and Adam (Amy) Bullyan; life partner, Doug Hendrickson; grandchildren, Jaidon, Olivia, Gavin and Sebastian; siblings, Jane (Vic) Earle, Donna (Larry) Baker, Larry (Judy) Tilton; other loving relatives and friends. Patti is preceded in death by her first husband, Robin Bullyan; parents, Don and Dorothy Tilton; brother, Donnie Tilton.

The Bullyan family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.
