Paul Frahm

Born on February 25, 1925 in Alfsborg Township, Paul John Frahm was the son of Ferdinand and Anna (Cook) Frahm. He was the second of seven children. Paul’s childhood years were spent in Pipestone, MN, working hard-picking corn with the mule and playing with his brothers and sisters, on the family farm. He graduated from the eighth grade in Pipestone, MN.

In his early years, Paul was a hired man for many of the local farmers, as they prepared the land for planting and harvesting of the crops. Most of Paul’s career was spent as a mechanic for repair shops. Over the years, his love for repairing cars was passed down to his family.

Paul married Helen Elaine Hughes on September 16, 1948. They were blessed with three sons, Steven, Doug and Rick. Paul’s world was shaken at the passing of Helen on August 21, 1984. On February 3, 1996, Paul remarried Helen Mae Hieronimus. She also passed on March 12, 2008.

Proudly serving in the United States Army and the Air Corps, Paul served for two years. He worked on fixing the lights on the landing strips during World War II. Paul was an active member of the American Legion Post 534 in Holland, MN.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed fishing with family and friends. A talented mechanic and inventor of many different things but his biggest accomplishment was building his home in Prior Lake.

A resident of Alexandria and formerly of Prior Lake, Paul J. Frahm, age 87, passed away peacefully in the evening hours of Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Peaceful Bliss Assistant Living in Alexandria, MN.

Forever loved, Paul will be deeply missed by his sons, Steven (Bonnie) Frahm of Alexandria, Doug (Tammy) Frahm of Prior Lake, Rick (Connie) Frahm of Big Lake; grandchildren, Kim (Randy) Sirek, Jessi (William King) Frahm, Robert Frahm, Karen (Tadd Lumm) Frahm, Anna (Bryan Cox) Frahm, Christina Frahm; great-grandchildren, Darius Sirek, Lilly Frahm, Jamie Braun, Jackson Sirek, Macy Sirek, Adrianna Frahm; sister-in-law, Betty Frahm; many other loving relatives and friends.

Paul is preceded in death by his wives, Helen Elaine and Helen Mae; parents, Ferdinand and Anna; siblings, Marge (Delbert) Miller, Frieda (Chester) Urland, Melvin Frahm, George (Rita) Frahm, Hugo (Betty) Frahm and Edna (Eldred) Davis.

Pallbearers for Paul will be Robert Frahm, William King, Tadd Lumm, Bryan Cox, Craig Hotzler and Ronald Miller.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 24 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior all at the Church of St. Michael 16311 Duluth Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. Father Tom Sieg will officiate. Paul will be laid to rest by first wife at the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Prior Lake, MN. Full military honors provided by the Prior Lake Volunteer Rifle Squad.
