Robert “Bob” H. Lehnen

Robert Hubert Lehnen was born on March 20, 1946 in Jordan, MN, to parents Frank J. and Verna M. (Weckman) Lehnen. One of nine children, Bob’s childhood years were spent in Jordan attending St. John the Baptist Catholic School and Jordan High School.

A hardworking and devoted employee, Bob spent most of his life seeing the countryside through the windshield of a truck. He started driving a milk truck and then for almost 40 years drove a garbage truck for G & H, now known as Waste Management.

In 1976, Bob met a young woman named, Connie Parker. They later married and were together for 13 years. After their divorce they remained the best of friends and still are to this day. In 2007, Bob had a stroke and in 2008 was diagnosed with lymphoma. Through all of this, Connie remained by his side.

An avid NASCAR fan, Bob love watching the car he owned race around the Elko Speedway Track. He enjoyed more working in the pits. Later on in life, Bob enjoyed spending time putting together jigsaw puzzles. He also had a special feathered companion named Freddy, a cockatiel, who gave Bob over 22 years of joy and comfort.

Childlike in nature, Bob was a kind and giving man, who was young at heart and liked by all.
A resident of Apple Valley, formerly of Jordan, Bob at the age of 66 passed away peacefully the early morning hours of Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN.
