Robin Annette Borchardt

Robin Annette Borchardt, aged 67, of Prior Lake, passed away on June 2, 2024.

A Christian Funeral will be held in Robin’s honor on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 12PM. A Time of Gathering will be held from 10AM-12PM prior to the service, all at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 20200 Fairlawn Ave, Prior Lake, MN. Rev. Dr. Brent Parrish presiding.

Robin Annette Borchardt was born on October 6, 1956 to parents Martin and Joyce Carter in Bloomington, MN. Robin was the second oldest out of 4 children. She spent her very early years living in Bloomington with her family but soon moved to the Prior Lake Area. Robin would spend the rest of her middle and high school years in Prior Lake, graduating from high school there and meeting her future husband!

Robin met Mark when she was still in high school. They quickly fell in love and got married at Immanuel Lutheran Church on August 31, 1974. They started their family together having 2 kids, Michell and Kelvin. They also added in a couple pets too! Robin was her kids rock, she gave them everything they needed and always made sure they were loved deeply.

As her kids got older, Robin put her college education in interior design to good use, designing her home that they built 38 years ago. Not only was she an excellent interior designer, but she was also incredibly crafty! She had her workshop in the backyard where she would make all the patio furniture, sew clothing, and rebuilt her brother’s 1968 Firebird! She found her love for carpentry from working over 30 years at CH Carpenter Lumber. She also had a love for stock car racing, which she did for 6 years at Raceway Park and Elko Speedway!

In her later years, Robin loved to continue her craft work. She would make beaver teeth necklaces from her husband’s trappings up north and make the neighbors patio furniture. She also liked to keep her husband busy in the garden! She would spend her mornings on the patio with her coffee, watching the wildlife and enjoying the simple pleasures of retirement.

When her grandchildren were born, she was so excited! She loved being a grandma, and even great-grandma! Spending time with the grandchildren, making them toys and doting on them like they were her own children.

Robin’s loving, caring nature will be forever missed by her husband, Mark Borchardt; children, Kelvin (Emily) Borchardt and Michell Borchardt; grandchildren, Archer Borchardt, Annette Star Borchardt, Nyssa Borchardt, Auston Borchardt-Innis; great-grandson Axton Borchardt, and one of the way, Bexley Borchardt; siblings, Rose Carter, Russel (Eve) Carter; Sister-in-law Sherry Carter; Uncle, Gerald (Marcy) Otto; and many other loving family and friends.

Robin is greeted in Heaven by her brother, Robert Carter; parents, Martin, John, and Joyce.
