Sean Sovis, 46, of Elko New Market, MN, passed away on August 19, 2024 in Burnsville, MN. He was surrounded by family as he peacefully passed on.
Born on December 19, 1977, in Edina, MN, Sean's passion for life was evident through his family and his hobbies. He was a regular at Amaya’s dance competitions and Jake’s basketball games, always being their biggest cheerleader. His love for the lake, social gatherings, and playing pull-tabs with friends were some of his favorite ways to relax and enjoy life.
Known for his unwavering dedication as a friend and family man, Sean was the heartbeat of every gathering. Whether it was daily phone call check-ins with friends or finding the right person for any task (who do I pay?). He embodied the spirit of true friendship. His love extended beyond his immediate family to include countless friends.
Sean was a devoted realtor at Sovis Real Estate Group/Remax Advantage Plus, where his professionalism and warm personality made him a favorite in the community.
A graduate of Burnsville High School, Sean's early life in the community forged lifelong friendships and a foundation for his future successes. As a teenager he could often be found skiing at Buck Hill, riding motorcycles with his buddies and being the life of the party.
Sean is survived by his loving wife, Jessi and children Amaya and Jake; mother, Debbie and Step Father Bill; brother, Eric and sister-in-law Amy [Alexys, Noah (Negar), Samuel (Kenzie)], Step Sister Anna (Joe), Step Brother Mark (Jen), In-Laws Tom and Marlene Helmrich, Sister-In-Law Katie, Aunt Terry, Uncles & Aunts -Jeff & Karen, Wendy & Ken, Bobbi & Craig, Wayne, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews, as well as a large circle of amazing friends who have become family.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Devyn Ann, grandparents Lois and Bob Danberg, Jeanne Sovis, Frank and Mary Sovis, father Mike Sovis, aunt Sherri and best friend Darren.
A celebration of life will be September 7, 2024, at The Pointe in Prior Lake, with a service starting at 1PM. Come prepared to share stories and memories of Sean. In lieu of flowers, we have set up a memorial fund in memory of Sean, with donations going towards Amaya & Jake’s college education. Donations are absolutely not expected, but always appreciated. Sean's legacy of love, friendship, and community will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
