Shane Markus Ruths, age 34 of Prior Lake, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022. A visitation will be held from 2-4PM with a Celebration of Life at 4PM on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant St. SE, Prior Lake.
On January 15, 1988 in Des Moines, IA parents Mark and Paula (Machir) Ruths celebrated the birth of their son Shane. From a young age, Shane had a kind and charismatic personality. He never hesitated to have fun. He especially enjoyed fishing with his brother.
The Ruths family eventually settled in Prior Lake, MN. Following his graduation from Prior Lake High School in 2006, Shane furthered his education at the Minnesota School of Business. He worked for various title companies, most recently Eagle Creek Title.
Outside of work, Shane spent most of his time with family and friends. He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, and uncle. Most importantly, Shane was a devoted and loving father. In 2020, Shane was blessed with the birth of his son Easton. He was truly Shane’s whole world.
Shane was always active and embraced new activities with the change of the seasons—snowmobiling in the winter, duck hunting in the fall, and summers on the lake. In later years, he enjoyed board games and picnics with his niece and nephew. Shane also enjoyed golfing, hockey, and simply getting together with other people. No matter the activity, Shane made every moment better with his contagious laughter and friendly smile.
Shane is loved and missed by his son, Easton; parents, Mark and Paula Ruths; brother, Travis (Emily) Ruths and their children, Eva & Turner; grandparents, Bob (Connie) Ruths; aunts & uncles, Todd (Michelle) Ruths, Ron (Deb) Machir, Penny (Danny) Hawxby, Pam (Randy) West, Patty (Kris) Robinson; many cousins, other relatives, friends, and his dog, Chance.
Shane is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ron (Ona) Machir; cousins, Taylor Ruths and Jax Hawxby.
