n Granite Falls, MN to Ray & Edna Fagen. She was the older sister to her brother Ron Fagen and the two of them spent many years trying to determine who was really in charge. She grew up in Maynard, MN where she graduated from high school. After high school she attended college at Bethany University in Mankato, MN. During a weekend at college her friend Rosemary Howard was going back to her home in Goodridge, MN and Sharon decided to go with. Rosemary introduced her to Ron Howard and shortly after they began their journey of 47 years of marriage until Ron’s untimely death in 2014. On June 10, 1967 Ron and Sharon were united in marriage. They lived near Minneapolis for a while Sharon worked as a decorator for JCPenney. From there Sharon and Ron moved back to Ron’s hometown of Goodridge to try their hand at farming and specifically wild rice farming. During that time Sharon established her own decorating and seamstress business, enjoying considerable success for numerous years and welcomed two sons into their family, Tim and Chris. In 1985, Sharon and Ron decided to get out of farming and relocated to Savage, MN. In 1989 they settled in Prior Lake, MN where Sharon resumed her role as a decorator at JCPenney and they established their home and family.
Those who knew her always admired her talent for decorating and her ability to make everything look its best. Her good friend Camille and her decorated for the Parade of Homes for many years and 8 years in a row they finished with the top honors for decorating. Eventually Sharon moved from decorating into the district manager position which was a very natural transition as Sharon was a great decorator, but also a great leader. Sharon took pride in her work, but her ultimate source of pride was her family and friends. She loved to host gatherings at their home in Prior Lake and enjoyed pontoon rides with family and friends. In addition to being an excellent host, Sharon was a great cook and rarely let guests leave her house without a Tupperware container of leftovers. After retirement,Sharon and Ron enjoyed traveling with their friends and siblings to many different locations. She loved the water and the views, but above all, her love for her grandchildren surpassed everything else.
The Lord called Sharon to heaven on the evening of January 23 rd . She will be remembered as a fun and supportive Wife, Mother, Grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her sons Timothy (Angie) Howard, and Chris (Kassi) Howard; grandchildren Jake, Brody, Avery, Harper and Ronni and brother Ron (Diane) Fagen. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Edna Fagen, and husband Ron Howard.
