Stephan James Cedarbloom

Stephan James Cedarbloom, age 29 of Minneapolis, formerly of Shakopee, died unexpectedly on April 29, 2019. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 1PM with a visitation 3-hours prior, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 833 S. Marschall Rd., Shakopee. Pastor Christian Huntley will preside and urnbearers will be his brother Ben, uncle AJ, and friends, Steve Rivera, Matt Watkins, and Rachel Mars.

On November 1, 1989 parents Cyndi and Jim celebrated the birth of their son, Stephan. He had the darkest brown eyes, the blackest hair, and at 8lbs 13oz Stephan looked like a miniature sumo wrestler. Throughout life, Stephan had an unshakeable bond with his siblings—they laughed, loved, fought, and forgave. He was fiercely protective of his family but was never afraid to pull pranks on them.

Stephan attended school in Shakopee where he participated in state honors choir, played tuba in the marching band, and excelled academically. Whether it was politics or math, Stephan knew his facts and could win any debate or answer any question.

It was during high school that Stephan began a friendship with Emily Isakson. Over the years, their friendship blossomed into love. They loved deeply and completed one another, bringing out the best qualities in each other! They lived in downtown Minneapolis where they could enjoy different activities, visit restaurants, and enjoy craft breweries with their friends. With ever changing hair styles and signature outfits, Stephan was a true city dweller.

Stephan extended compassion and empathy to everyone. He was supportive during the good and tough times, especially for his uncle AJ. No matter what, Stephan’s contagious laughter and fun-loving attitude could make a bad day better.

Stephan had a big personality—he was charismatic, honest, and genuine! His ability to light up a room will always be remembered by those who love him. His mother, Cyndi (Jamie) Grenier, and father, Jim (Dana) Cedarbloom; soulmate, Emily Isakson; siblings, Ben Cedarbloom, Ashley Grenier, Torie Anderson, Jake Hemmah, Justin Hemmah, Sammy Germain, Ashley Letourneau; niece and twin nephews, Violet Grenier, Declen Grenier, Daxten Grenier; grandparents, Loren (Cheryl) Richert, Brian Letourneau; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Stephan is preceded in death by his grandma, Linda Bunday, and his great-grandparents.
