It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Summer Tina Marie Brooks, age 35. She was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many. Summer was born on July 3 rd , 1986, to her parents Dorothea and Vernon Brooks in Edina, Minnesota and passed away on April 30, 2022.
Summer grew up in North Minneapolis where she attended Sheridan School and North Community High School. She then went on to Minnesota State University, Mankato were she later graduated with a double major. A few years after graduating, she relocated to Florida, where she resided the rest of her days.
Summer was a lover of food, especially steak, the color purple, laughing, music, cooking, swimming, rollercoasters and comedies. She was beautiful, both inside and out. She was a kind-hearted, intelligent, independent woman making her way through life. Summer had special bonds with so many of her friends. To have known Summer is to have laughed with her and to have a funny story to tell of some sort of crazy shenanigans. Those around her were drawn to her infectious and goofy personality. She truly loved life and always wanted the best for the people closest to her. Loyalty, generosity, thoughtfulness and selflessness were traits that highlighted her personality. Summer touched the lives of so many people in such a short amount of time.
She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothea “Dottie” Brooks, father Vern Brooks; sister, Karen Necee Adams and brother, Jeremy Feldt. She is survived by her grandmother, Ethel Brooks; sisters, Constance Brooks and Tammy (Carlos) Marchen; brothers, Dale (Shireen) Feldt and Robert (Lindsey) Feldt ; nephews, Austin (Madelyn) Miller, Cory (Megan) Petree, Garrett Walsh, Grant Walsh, Teddy Marchen, Skylar Feldt, Michael Krautkremer; nieces, Abria Martin and Mackenzie Feldt; great-niece, great-nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and countless friends.
On May 27, 2022, Summer will be laid to rest. Visitation followed by a service will be held at Greater Hope Church of God in Christ, 3207 37th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55406. Visitation will start at 11 am followed by a homegoing celebration at 12 pm. Summer will be greatly missed. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss.
