On February 12, 1943 in St. Paul, parents Michael and Albertine (Pieper) Strom, welcomed their daughter into the world. She was one of four girls to grow up in West St. Paul. In her youth, Susan was athletic. She especially loved to play softball and be outdoors with her dog, Lady.
Following her graduation in 1961 from Henry Sibley High School in West St. Paul, Susan began working at West Publishing. Most of her career was spent with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Susan was married to Edward Reese and their union was blessed with two sons. As a mother, Susan worked tirelessly for her children. Even when faced with difficult times, Susan’s generous spirit never wavered. She was an advocate for those who needed it most and always voiced her opinion.
Even when diagnosed with MS in 1985, Susan persevered—nothing slowed her down! She continued doing what she loved most. Cheering on the Vikings and Lynx, painting, and spending time with family and friends.
Susan’s family and friends always knew they were loved. Whether it was taking nature walks around McKenna or eating pizza on Wednesday nights, Susan enjoyed every moment with her grandchildren. During her seven years at McKenna, Susan made countless friends. She could often be found at happy hour, bingo, or Wii bowling.
Susan was an amazingly strong woman with a quick wit and great sense of humor. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue on with her children, Bill (Julia) Reese, Dan Reese; her grandchildren, Alycia Reese and Alex Reese; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jeanne (Ken) Korngable, Nancy (Bill) Siedschlag, and Elizabeth (Ronald) Bruestle.
