Ted L. Anderson

Ted L. Anderson, age 79, of Savage, MN, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, at the Meadows Senior Living in Savage. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. James Lutheran Church, 3650 Williams Dr, Burnsville, MN 55337. A Time of Gathering will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Ted will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on December 9, 2024, in a private family ceremony.

Ted was born and raised on his family’s farm in St. James, Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota, where he excelled as a member of Phi Kappa Psi and competed as a wrestler on a full scholarship. In 1968, Ted married his beloved wife, Cindi Anderson, in Fairmont, Minnesota. During the Vietnam War, Ted served in the United States Army and wrestled for the military while stationed in Okinawa.

After his military service, Ted built a successful 26-year career in agricultural sales with BASF. He and Cindi shared a passion for travel, exploring diverse cultures and forming lasting friendships around the globe. Ted cherished time spent golfing, fishing, hunting, snorkeling, and, above all, being with family and friends.

Ted is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cindi Anderson; daughters, Stacie (Rick) Nordvold and Jenny (Mike) Merwin; grandchildren, Lauren, Teddy, and Libby Nordvold, Mikhaela, and Katelyn Merwin, and Jake Anderson; great-grandson, Michael Merwin; siblings, Herb (Pam) Anderson and Jeanne (Ev) Marcil; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Esther Anderson, and parents-in-law, Einar and Ardys Erickson.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Meadows Senior Living and Brighton Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Ted’s honor to support their mission to end Alzheimer’s and dementia. Ted will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
