Tim Stewart, of Minneapolis, passed away September 7, 2024 at the age of 36. He will always be remembered for his big heart.
On April 13, 1988, Timothy Paul Stewart was born to parents Jim and LuAnn. He was one of eight sons born to the couple. Tim spent most of his childhood growing up in Minnetonka. He loved being around the lake. He enjoyed boating, fishing and tinkering with machines and cars. Tim also enjoyed snowboarding, listening to music and spending time with his friends. In 2006, Tim graduated from Chaska High School.
Following his graduation, Tim enlisted in the armed services. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine for five years before being honorably discharged. During his service, he worked as a CH-46 helicopter mechanic. His helicopters were instrumental in the Captain Phillips raid and rescue mission. During his two deployments, Tim also spent time in Hawaii, Thailand, Guam, Bahrain, and many other countries.
Tim continued his passion for serving others when he pursued a career as a first responder. Tim worked as a paramedic with North Memorial Health for many years. He had a calming spirit and kind heart which were so wonderful for the patients he was helping. Recently, Tim held a new position as part of the Emergency Management Team. This job kept him at a desk, but still allowed him to help others.
He was a quiet soul and always had a calm presence. He had a soft heart and would do anything for anyone. Tim was a great friend, and so many people considered him a brother even though they weren’t actually related to him.
There were so many wonderful things about Tim, but sadly, he carried the burden for so many of the people he helped over the years as a Marine and First Responder. Dying from suicide doesn’t take away from the wonderful man Tim was. Tim’s family is so proud of him and knows that he will live on in their hearts forever.
Tim is survived by his mother, LuAnn Ewald; father, James “Jim” Stewart; brothers, David (Joanna) Stewart, Jeff (Rochelle) Stewart, Bryan Stewart, Greg (Kari) Stewart, Steve (Nicole) Stewart, Matthew (Reanna Schlosser) Stewart; nieces, Nora, Maci, Marli, Hazel; significant other, Lindsay Cole; uncle, Mike Renstrom; step-father, Mike Ewald; other loving relatives and many dear friends. Tim was greeted in Heaven by his brother, Bradley Stweart; grandparents; and cousin, Aaron Renstrom.
