Wilmar Paul was born on April 17, 1927 to August and Ida “Kassuhn” Mueller in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. He grew up with siblings William “Billy”, Maebel, Ida, Myrtle, Eleanore “Ella”, and Rueben “Ruby”. On August 28, 1951 he married Alice Mae Klingberg at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prior Lake. Vim and Alice were blessed with two children, Steve and Roxanne, along with four granddaughters and seven great grandchildren. Vim worked at Continental Machines in Savage for 35 years and in his retirement, he loved serving others either at church, at an auction, or by fixing their lawnmower or snowblower. He also loved to fish.
Vim loved his family immensely and often said; “I have the best family around”. Vim and Alice were avid polka dancers and loved the outdoors. On weekends Vim and Alice enjoyed helping with their daughter and son-in-law’s auction business where they collected numerous antiques and made many friends. Everyone was a friend to Vim. He loved visiting with people and telling his famous stories. Vim was amazing at fixing small engines. Everyone knew the guy by Subway who fixed lawn mowers and snow blowers. He wasn’t just good at fixing things, but he also loved teaching people how to fix it themselves. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to tell a good joke.
Vim was an active member in their church community serving as an elder and usher as well as helping Alice out with funeral luncheons.
Vim is loved and will be greatly missed by his children, Steve Mueller and Roxanne (Larry) Valek; grandchildren, Ann (Dylan) Stenson, Amy (Mike) Zasoski, Vicki (Lou) Hernandez, Robin (Bryan) Pikal; great grandchildren, Adi, Cohlby, Jace, Johanna, Lauren, Gavin, Hudson; and many other loving relatives and friends.
He will be reunited in heaven with his wife of 72 years, Alice, along with his parents and siblings and daughter-in-law, Susan Mueller.
