Vincent Eugene Ross (Maĥpiya To)

Vincent Eugene Ross (Maĥpiya To), age 64, a member of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in Prior Lake, Minnesota and a Mason of the Lebanon Lodge #346, journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in Prior Lake, Minnesota. 

An all-night wake will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, with Traditional Wake Services starting at 7 PM, at Tiowakan Spiritual Center, 14625 Prairie Grass Drive NW, Prior Lake, Minnesota. Masonic and Traditional Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024. Gene Thin Elk, Lakota Spiritual Leader and Janice Bad Moccasin, Dakota Prayer Traditions will officiate.

Pallbearers for Vincent will be Daniel Jones, David Quilt, Michael Ross, Sam Quilt, Ricky Hunt, Kenneth Quilt and Aaden Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony and Deb Sax, Juilo and Genevieve Calvillo, Nancy Hawkins, Mary Sladek, Janice Bad Moccasin, Brian Hess, John and Kathy Vig, Pat Welch and Joe Sam Ross. 

Vincent was born on October 16, 1959, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, to Lanny Axel Ross and Betty Lou Thompson. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Vincent was also a devoted brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. 

A love for making people laugh, Vincent enjoyed telling stories to family and friends. Vincent loved listening to new podcasts, especially the best-selling author and renowned speaker of Dr. Gabor Maté. A jack-of-all-trades, he accepted any challenge to fix anything placed in front of him. Vincent was hardworking and enjoyed his years as a carpenter. His greatest passion was helping others in the Recovery Program, which held a special place in his heart. Vincent will always be remembered for his fighting spirit and strong will to live. 

Vincent will be forever loved and missed by wife, Pamela Ross; children, Jesse Zaske, David Ross, Makala Ross; grandchildren, May-Reyana Karlstad, Devin Zaske, Adrian Zaske, Bo Zaske, Jesse Zaske Jr.; sisters, Tina Quilt, Anna Ross, Allene Ross, Jeannie Ross, and brother, Kevin Ross; hunka brother, Raymond Owen; other relatives and friends

Vincent is preceded in death by his daughter, Nievieda Ross; father, Lanny Ross; mother, Betty Thompson; and sister Connie Ross.
