On November 8, 1952 in St. Paul, MN, Bill was adopted to parents James Michael and Elizabeth Mae (Swanson) Brady. He was the third of four children. Bill spent most of his years growing up in Burnsville, MN, with his two loyal and best friends for life, Steve and Randee. Always having fun, they lived life on the edge and mischief seemed always follow the three of them. Bill graduated from Burnsville High School in 1970.
Attending St. Thomas College for one semester, Bill enlisted in the United States Army, from March of 1972 through June of 1974. He was selected and played an important role in the success of first American Airborne Battalion Combat Team. Stationed in Italy, Bill truly loved the scenery of the country. Returning from the service, he attended and graduated from Winona State University with an Accounting Degree. Bill then earned a MBA through the University of Minnesota. Growing up working in his dad’s drug store, he learned good customer service and the importance of a great business foundation. Starting out his career at Arthur Anderson Consulting Firm in Chicago, Bill spent most of his years as owner/operator of Brady and Company, until retiring in 1999. In 2002, he returned to the business world again, as owner/operator of Brady Consulting, where he developed financial systems for companies.
While playing softball, Bill met Lisa Mayer. They married in 1985 and were together for 20 years. Bill and Lisa were blessed with three children, Kelly, Jack and Katie. Growing up on the lake, he believed it was a treat to go out in the boat and enjoy each others company. He loved taking fishing trips and Bill’s favorite place to travel was Hawaii. Bill loved a good piece of steak, driving his 66 Chevelle and playing golf. He enjoyed shopping at Sam’s Club with his kids, buying different electronic gadgets and taking naps on the couch. Paying close attention to each detail, Bill was an exceptional story teller. As his health started to deteriorate, he enjoyed the simpler ways of life, watching Judge Judy and eating Hot Fudge Carmel Malts.
Having a love for light houses, Bill also had a special light that had to shine. A loyal friend to many, he always put others needs before his own. Bill was extremely honest, generous and had a big charismatic heart, with a wonderful and outgoing personality.
Deeply missed and remembered always by those who loved Bill; children, Kelly (Greg) Larson of Milnor, ND, John Michael “Jack” Brady of Woodbury, Katie Brady of Eden Prairie; one granddaughter expected in June; sister, Debbie (Dave Burdick) Brady of Winona; brother, Kevin Brady of Farmington; sister-in-law, Cindy Brady of Farmington; other loving relatives and devoted friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Betty Brady and brother, Jim Brady.
Urn bearers for Bill will be his loving children.
